About NOFire AI
- The mission. Software breaks in production, and the people who can explain why are a shrinking, overloaded group. AI makes it worse, not better: teams ship more code, faster, with less human review than ever. NOFire AI is building the Context & Control Model, the governance model that lets agents act on production safely, within policy, fully auditable.
- The founders. Spiros Economakis (CEO), previously Head of Cloud at Mattermost and at Lenses.io (acquired by Celonis), author of Argo CD in Practice. Panagiotis Moustafellos (CTO), Distinguished Engineer at Elastic for 9 years, led the Elastic Cloud team. The role
This is a part-time role, roughly 10 to 15 hours a week. You own payroll, compliance, and the systems that keep the company running, across every entity and jurisdiction we operate in. When something is due, it gets done on time, correctly, the first time.
This is not a role to learn on the job. We want someone who has actually run payroll and compliance before, ideally across more than one country, and who can look at how we do it today, tell us plainly what needs to change, and then go make that change.
What you'll own
- Payroll, on time, every time. Payroll runs correctly across every entity and jurisdiction we operate in, with zero surprises for anyone on the team.
- Compliance, ahead of the deadline. Filings, insurance, employment obligations, and data protection requirements, tracked and handled before they become urgent, not after.
- The right payroll and HR infrastructure. Assess whether our current process needs a proper payroll partner, make the call, and own that relationship going forward.
- Systems and vendors. Tool and vendor contracts, renewals, access provisioning and deprovisioning, invoicing. If a subscription auto-renews without anyone noticing, that is on this role to catch.
- Onboarding and offboarding, done right. Contracts, equipment, access, and paperwork for every person who joins or leaves, with nothing missed.
- The operational side of our compliance work. Policy documentation, access reviews, and vendor security questionnaires, kept current and ready.
What we're looking for
- Real experience running payroll and compliance, ideally across more than one country. You have done this before, not just read about it.
- Comfortable looking at how we operate today and recommending a real fix, not just flagging the problem.
- Discretion. You will see sensitive financial and personal information, and you treat it that way, always.
- Organized by nature. Nothing sits in an inbox waiting to become urgent.
- Comfortable working async, part-time, with a small, remote team.
Bonus points
- You have set up or evaluated a payroll or HR platform before.
- You have worked with an early-stage startup operating across more than one country.
- You are comfortable with modern finance and HR tools without needing much hand-holding.
